After a year's worth of volcanic activity, Checksum's debut release erupts from the sonic-tectonic hotbed of Turku, Finland. Drawing from a diverse assortment of sources ranging from Renaissance choir music to trance-pop, ESSEM is bricolage club music reflecting the counterintuitive juxtapositions in modernity, yet also paying homage to the history of dance and pop music.
